Living on Tortola, I became fascinated by a dynamic and hidden world—motorcycle riders performing daring tricks through traffic, displaying incredible skill and fearlessness. My personal journey into this sport revealed more than just adrenaline; it uncovered a powerful sense of identity and belonging within a tight-knit subculture.
As I engaged with these riders and their community, I discovered that their passion is deeply rooted in a search for self-expression and connection. For many, riding is a way to carve out their own space on an island where they often feel misunderstood or marginalized. The risks involved are not just part of the thrill—they are intertwined with their pursuit of authenticity and community.
Conversations with locals, including an emergency surgeon, shed light on the dangerous side of this passion—an undeniable reality that many accept as part of their identity and their way of life. I sought to portray both sides of this story: the love and dedication that drive these riders, and the dangers they willingly embrace in their quest for self-discovery and belonging.
This film aims to present an honest reflection of a subculture where the line between passion and risk is blurred, and where the pursuit of identity and community takes center stage.
